A13 motorway- Buchelay (78)

Tensile tests and inspection tests

Client : NGE FONDATIONS 69

Project owner : CU GRAND PARIS

Project manager : SCE

We were commissioned by NGE Fondations based in Saint Priest (69) to carry out tensile tests on nails on a nailed wall site in Buchelay (78) under a motorway bridge.

Two types of test were carried out.

Firstly, a series of preliminary tests were carried out until failure (tensile tests with controlled displacement and then with controlled force).

The aim was to determine the coefficients of friction in the various layers traversed and thus optimise the design of the nails.

Secondly, during the worksite, control tests were carried out. Each anchor was tested up to 1.2 times its in-service resistance value. These tests were carried out on different lines of nails.
