Line 912 – Livron/Aspres – PK2+410 to 92+900

SNCF RESEAU commissioned Sol Solution to carry out a geological survey campaign on line 912 000 from PK002+410 to 092+900 linking Livron sur Drôme to Aspres sur Buëch.
In total, 31 geological boreholes were drilled to a depth of 1.65m. These boreholes were drilled with an auger mounted on a mini-excavator. This method makes it possible to set up quickly and drill between two sleepers, while at the same time taking a sufficient volume of material for laboratory tests.
Following these samples, a campaign of laboratory tests was carried out to characterise the materials that make up the subgrade. Among the tests carried out, 77 water contents were measured, 59 granulometric analyses were performed by sieving (29 of them by sedimentometry), 22 Atterberg limits and 37 blue tests were carried out, and 28 immediate bearing capacity indices were measured.
