CEREMA has drafted a technical note on load-bearing capacity tests on platforms. On page 16 you will find the principle of the test: “The lightweight dynamic plate is a dynamic bearing test, by falling mass. The test consists of pre-compacting the existing soil after three impacts. The measurement of the elastic dynamic modulus (EVD) occurs after the central point of the load plate is pushed in after three new impacts. The pulse is exerted by a maximum force of 7.07 kN on a 30 cm diameter plate. The displacement under the plate is measured by an accelerometer. The depth of investigation of this test is 30 to 40 cm. ». Particularly effective with materials with a Dmax of less than 100 mm, the lightweight dynamic plate allows quick and easy tests to be carried out in areas that are particularly difficult to access for construction machinery.
