September 2018 : the ultimate PANDA®2 in stock at SOL SOLUTION has just been sold to COLAS in GABON. This customer already had a PANDA® 2 and wanted to double its material on the basis of the same model.
The distribution of PANDA®2 has therefore officially and definitively ended. PANDA®2 service, spare parts and calibrations will be provided for our customers for many years to come.
Now it's time for the new PANDA®.
On the occasion of the release of the latest generation of the PANDA® variable energy light dynamic penetrometer, a brief history of the latter:

Creation of the PANDA®
1992: birth and first sales of the PANDA® 1 (automatic data acquisition already but no curves displayed on the field box). The hardware also already has a dedicated software under DOS: PANDA® DOS.
At the time, variable energy, acquisition and software were a revolution in geotechnical engineering.
1996: design and distribution of the pneumatic automatic threshing machine (mass of 20 kg) to assist the threshing of regular PANDA® users, and the mechanical rod extractor.
1996: release of the first software under Windows environment: PANDA® WIN 1
2000: PANDA® is standardized in the field of compaction control (NF XP P 94-105).

The PANDA® 2 dynamic penetrometer
2002: the PANDA® 1 gives way to its successor the PANDA® 2 (touch screen, curved display on field box, new generation of energy sensors,...). PANDA® 2 is also combined with a new software, PANDA® WIN 2.
2004: q5 quality available and automatic entry of GPS coordinates.
2007: new international soil classifications (USCS, AASTHO, DIN 1896,...) and CBR units available.
2010: new materials in the compaction database, new model of mechanical rod extractor.
The new generation PANDA®
2018: design and distribution of the light electric threshing machine (10 kg mass).
2018: new generation of PANDA® (touch screen colour display, curved and straight reference and refusal lines, gps,. ) combined with new GeoSprint software.
to come: manual threshing column for the PANDA® and new calculation modules in the GeoSprint software (foundations, correlations, liquefaction,...).
